While RIE models are a reliable option for those who opt against rechargeable batteries, keep in mind that Resound’s cutting-edge Intelligence Augmented AI capabilities are only available on the rechargeable Vivia 60s miniRIE model.
Actual battery performance can differ based on variables like the severity of hearing loss, streaming frequency, ambient noise levels, and other usage factors.
Rechargeability
The Vivia 9 microRIE is powered by a built-in lithium-ion battery that offers up to 30 hours of usage on a single charge, with typical performance around 22-25 hours during consistent audio streaming. For those streaming music or calls for several hours daily, the device still delivers approximately 18-20 hours of reliable operation. A fast 10-minute charge yields about 2.5 hours of additional playback time.
The accompanying charging case is durable and designed for portability, equipped with LED battery level indicators and an integrated power bank that supports up to three full recharges while on the move.
Connectivity
The Resound Vivia 9 incorporates advanced Bluetooth Low Energy (LE) Audio technology, enhancing connectivity and audio streaming for compatible iOS and Android devices. Compared to older Bluetooth protocols, LE Audio offers seamless device pairing and supports Auracast, enabling future connections to public audio systems, such as airport broadcasts, without requiring direct pairing.
