PHONAK VIRTO Q30

Entry Level Custom Hearing Aids From Phonak

phonak virto q30

The Virto Q30 has now been replaced by the Virto V30 which you can read about here.

Learn more about the Virto V30

Launched: 2013
Replacement for: Phonak Dalia (Custom)
The Phonak Virto Q30 is one Phonak's range of ITE (In the Ear) hearing aids. It has three different custom styles, ITE (In the Ear), ITC (In the Canal) and CIC (Completely in Canal).  The Virto Q30 does not currently offer the Nano, which is the IIC (Invisible in Canal) hearing aid available in the other levels of technology. You can take a look at the full range of Phonak hearing aids here

The Virto Q is available at four different levels of technology with the Q30 being the lowest. It is still available in a range of colours but has fewer channels and features than the more advanced models in this range.

These hearing aids have many of the same key features as the Dalia but whereas the Dalia worked on the previous ‘Spice’ platform, the Virto Q30 contains the faster and more advanced Quest processing chip.

The new Quest platform has led to faster processing and an overall improved sound quality but as this is a basic hearing aid, it lacks some of the new technology available. For instance, the new Binaural Voicestream feature is not currently available at the Q30 level of technology.

It still has a number of Phonak’s key features which have now been improved thanks to the introduction of the Quest platform technology.

8 Channels

Compared to some of the more advanced models, this is quite a low number of channels but still allows your hearing aids to be tuned for the different sound frequencies.

Soundrecover

This feature helps to improve the wearer’s ability to hear the higher frequency sounds that may have previously been out of audibility range.

Ultrazoom

This feature improves both noise cancellation and speech capture by using binaural microphone technology. The Virto Q30 has a basic version of this feature.

Whistleblock and Noiseblock

Phonak’s ‘block’ features are designed to keep out the noises you don’t want to hear and leave the sounds you do much clearer. These two are specifically for eliminating feedback whistling and background noise.

Everyday Automatic

This a feature that is unique to the Virto Q30 technology level. It further improves the reduction of background noise by adjusting automatically as your environment changes.

Some of the styles in this custom ITE range are still compatible with Phonak’s wireless accessories. This gives you the freedom to connect to various devices while still enjoying a comfortable and discreet hearing aid.

Phonak Compilot

This device must be used with the other Phonak accessories to stream the sound into your hearing aids. It is a streamer that can be worn around the neck and will then relay the sound from your other devices.

Phonak TV Link S

This accessory is connected to your television and will send the sound through your Compilot into the hearing aids. You can then personally adjust the volume you hear using your streamer. It can also be used as a charger for the Compilot accessory.

Phonak MyPilot

This simple, one touch display screen remote control allows you to change basic features of the hearing aids such as programme settings and volume levels

KeyPilot

This is a small, discreet remote control that can be attached to a key ring

RemoteMic

The RemoteMic helps you hear normal conversation even in a noisy environment by streaming the other person’s voice into your hearing aids. Simply attach the device to the speaker’s clothes and the sound of their voice will be sent through your Compilot into the hearing aids.
